Project Propeller 2010 East Kirkby.

This morning, I visited East Kirkby airfield/museum to see what was going on at the 'Project Propeller' event, which was seen on the LAHC website, some months ago. We had no idea, what would be turning-up, but we did see around 50+ visiting civil aircraft, which included some vintage stuff, in the form of a Tiger Moth. Alot of aircraft appeared to bring-in some old-faces, to the event. Weather was good, although videos were awful because of the windy conditions. See a selection of shots of stuff seen today at this event. The veterans signed in, then were treated to food, and then after lunch, some were to have given a 'talk' in the shade of the hangar.

I believe there were 126 aircraft that flew in (plus the BBMF Spit) and 176 veterans. Bob Foster gave the talk ( a previous pilot of RA4118). The only downside was the wind blew the chicken shed smell towards the venue! One of my vets was diappointed we flew at 3000 to get the tailwind there so we flew low level on the return. A bit of a novelty for a Halifax bomb aimer!

Glad your, Halifax 'bomb-aimer' was still in good spirits' !! , bet he could still do some damage now. I had to leave early, my elderly father was feeling 'under the weather' so took him home, but he enjoyed it, more so when he saw
the Cessna 180 roll-up, and loved the Tiger Moth too !! What did you come in, the Harvard ?

C172 as I had two vets and couldn't afford the juice anyway. The other vet finished in Concord so thought everything was rather low level as it was below 50,000 ft!
